SUNRISE — Police response to the Florida high school massacre was hampered by quirks in the local 911 and emergency dispatch system created problems with law enforcement response, the chairman of a commission investigating the shooting said Wednesday. Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said the dual dispatch system used by the city of Parkland delayed Broward County sheriff's deputies from getting timely information during the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. XXXTENTACION SLAIN

FORT LAUDERDALE — A second person has been arrested in the June shooting death of emerging rap star XXXTentacion, authorities in Florida announced Wednesday. Michael Boatwright, 22, is facing first-degree murder charges in the killing, the Broward Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Boatwright was initially arrested last week on an unrelated drug charge, investigators said. Jail records didn't list an attorney for him. Also charged in the killing outside a Deerfield Beach motorcycle shop is Dedrick Williams, 22. His lawyer has said he will plead not guilty. By Curt Anderson. SENT: 279 words with AP Photos. SPEED TRAPS-FLORIDA — After being number 1 for almost a quarter of a century, the Florida towns of Waldo and Lawtey are now no longer designated "Traffic Traps" by AAA.

FLORIDA-AGRICULTURE COMMISSIONER — Republican Sen. Marco Rubio is endorsing state Rep. Matt Caldwell in Florida's race for agriculture commissioner. Caldwell's campaign announced the endorsement Wednesday. It's the first endorsement Rubio has made in a statewide primary this year.

DEAD BABY-OCEAN — Six weeks after a baby was found floating in the waters off Florida's Atlantic coastline, police are still trying to identify the child and find her mother.

POLICE SHOOTING-FLORIDA — Police say a wanted man who led police on a car chase near Miami lost control of his vehicle and crashed, only to get out with an assault weapon and open fire on detectives.

WRONG-WAY CRASH — Four people, including a deputy, have been injured in a wrong-way crash in Florida. Citing the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the Tampa Bay Times reports the agency learned Tuesday that Reginald Gambrell was driving the wrong way on a Tampa road.

1997 FATAL ROBBERY — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for a 21-year-old fatal robbery. The Sun Sentinel reports that 50-year-old Bennie Hall was sentenced this week. He was convicted in May of first-degree murder.

JACKSONVILLE-FRAUD — Florida's governor has appointed replacement for two suspended members of Jacksonville's City Council. Gov. Rick Scott made the appointments Tuesday.

FATAL SHOOTING-FIGHT — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for chasing another man down and killing him after a fight.
