HALLANDALE, Fla. (AP) _ Eclipse jockey of the year Jerry Bailey rode Copy Editor to a three-length win in the $100,000 Mac Diarmida Handicap Sunday at Gulfstream to finish his third straight three-win day.

Inkatha was second in the 1 3-8 mile Grade Three turf race for 3-year-olds and up. Lafitte the Pirate closed with a rush to edge the favorite Slicious for third in the field of 12.

Bailey also rode, Envy of the Crown, the winner in the sixth race, and seventh race winner Catcina. It was the third day in a row Bailey, who won his third Eclipse Award last week as the nation's top rider, had won three races.

Copy Editor was timed in 2:16 3-5 and paid $8.80, $6.20 and $4.80. Inkatha paid $10.20 and $8.80 and Lafitte the Pirate paid $7.20 to show.

Copy Editor's trainer, Marty Wolfson, was not at the track. Wolfson's wife and assistant trainer, Karla Wolfson, was kicked by another horse at their farm Sunday morning and had to have surgery to remove her spleen. She was listed in serious but stable condition at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

Copy Editor, a 6-year-old Florida-bred son of Maudlin, has won eight of 29 starts and earned $256,280.
