TAOS, N.M. (AP) _ A small jet clipped a power line and crashed on a highway Friday killing both people aboard, authorities said.
The 1983 Westwind 1124 turbo jet crashed between Taos and Tres Piedras, said John Clabes, spokesman for the FAA in Oklahoma City.
No cars were hit on the highway, which was closed after the crash, state police Lt. Rob Shilling said. It was unclear whether the plane was trying to land on the highway or had mechanical problems.
The jet departed from Las Vegas. It was owned by Richmor Aviation in Hudson, N.Y., which said two people were on board.
