WILDLIFE CROSSINGS

BISMARCK, N.D. — Increased traffic due to oil activity and population growth in western North Dakota have prompted state wildlife officials to work with state transportation officials on safe road crossings for wildlife. A recent highway expansion near Williston included an underpass designed for moose, and officials are recommending more underpasses for bighorn sheep, mule deer and other animals. WATFORD CITY, N.D. — City and county officials say residents of a North Dakota RV park did not hear warning sirens that were sounded before a deadly tornado, raising questions if the system performed the way it should have.
