SALEM, N.H. (AP) _ Two trains collided on an amusement park's roller coaster Friday afternoon, injuring five people, authorities said.
The injuries all appeared to be minor, said Tom Morrow, operations manager for Canobie Lake Park. The injured included four men and a 10-year-old boy.
Morrow said a train that was supposed to stop at an unloading platform passed by it and started climbing the ride's first hill. About halfway up the 55-foot hill, the train collided with one in front of it.
The 16 riders on each train were able to climb out of the cars and down a stairway from the track to the ground, Morrow said.
The injured were taken to a hospital in nearby Methuen, Mass.
Morrow said the state Safety Department would investigate what caused the crash on the Yankee Cannonball, built in 1936,
