MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Computer mogul Bill Gates donated more than $200,000 to help kick off a new technology training program linked with the Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Gates, chairman and chief executive officer of Microsoft, joined MATC President John Birkholz in launching the program, which also will include a donation of lap-top computers from Toshiba.

``In terms of responding to the needs of the marketplace, getting people ready for the new jobs that are out there, the community colleges really are the leading edge,'' Gates said Monday.
