Newcastle Third in Premier League

LONDON (AP) _ Newcastle took over third place in the Premier League on Saturday, defeating Derby 1-0 on Alan Shearer's penalty kick in the 30th minute.
However, Newcastle might not stay long in third place. Liverpool and Leeds _ with 23 points, the same as Newcastle _ play on Sunday.
Also Sunday, it's Manchester United-Arsenal, Leeds-Aston Villa, Liverpool-Sunderland and Ipswich-Middlesbrough.
Trailing the three leaders are Aston Villa (22), Manchester United and Tottenham (21) and Arsenal, Chelsea and Bolton (20).
In Saturday's other games, it was: Bolton 0, Fulham 0; Chelsea 0, Blackburn 0; Leicester 0, Everton 0; Newcastle 1, Derby 0; Southampton 1, Charlton 0; and Tottenham 1, West Ham 0.
In Scotland, Livingston moved into third place with a 3-0 victory at Hibernian.
On Sunday, the Rangers play at Celtic in one of soccer's great rivalries. Celtic, the defending champ, leads the league with 40 points to 33 for the Rangers.
