BEIJING (AP) _ A bus plunged nearly 400 feet off a cliff in western China on Tuesday, killing 25 people, a local government official said.
The crash in the southwestern city of Chongqing, in the mountainous Pengshui region, left four others injured, said a county official who gave only his surname, Yang.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, he said.
Such accidents occur frequently in China, a result of treacherous and poorly maintained mountain roads, overloaded vehicles and exhausted drivers who routinely ignore traffic laws.
