LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) _ Brent Hutsted scattered seven hits and struck out seven, pitching Nevada past Southwest Texas State, 7-1, Friday in the NCAA Central Regional.

Hutsted improved his record to 8-1 in outdueling Southwest Texas hurler Jason Divin (7-5), who gave up 6 hits and 7 runs in 5 1-3 innings.

Nevada improved to 39-20, while Southwest Texas fell to 37-25.

Justin Martin went 3-for-5 for the Wolfback. He was the only Nevada player with more than one hit. Joe Inglett doubled in two runs.

Nevada took a 3-0 lead in the third on a walk and three singles and added two unearned runs in the fourth.The Wolfback made it 7-0 in the sixth.

Meanwhile, Husted handcuffed Southwest Texas until the ninth.

Joel Bomersbach singled and scored on Bob Eubank's double for the Bobcats' only run.
