SILVERPEAK, Nev. (AP) _ Two moderate earthquakes struck western Nevada about 20 miles from the California border early Sunday morning. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.

The two earthquakes, of 5.3- and 4.3-magnitude, struck near this small town midway between Las Vegas and Reno at 12:37 a.m. and 12:51 a.m., the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

``The entire building shook,'' said Sharon Sumerau, a Nye County Sheriff's dispatcher in Tonopah, 27 miles north of the quakes.

She said one caller told her the effects were felt as far away as Yerington, Nev., 65 miles southeast of Reno.
