PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gov. Gina Raimondo has signed bills that bar minors from using tanning facilities, eradicate substandard airbags, and protect animals.
The Democratic governor has now cleared her desk of all pending legislation.
The Senate president had called for tightening regulatory controls on automobile airbags.
Raimondo also signed a bill introduced by the House speaker to give patients the option of only partially filling painkiller prescriptions to address opioid addiction.
She signed bills that require animals to be kept inside during extreme weather and to provide guidelines for the adoption of research animals.
She also signed measures to require carbon monoxide detectors in schools, require hospitals to offer the flu vaccine to elderly patients, and give pregnant teens the power to consent to their own medical care.
