Infant Clothing Recalled
Jul. 30, 1999
WASHINGTON (AP) _ About 68,000 infant ``creeper'' short-sleeved body suits are being recalled by Shopko Stores because they have defective snaps that can detach and choke children.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday the suits have two snaps on the left shoulder and three snaps at the crotch that easily can be removed.
No injuries have been reported but ``the creepers should be returned to the store for a refund,'' said commission spokeswoman Nychelle Fleming.
Shopko Stores of Green Bay, Wis., sold the clothing, manufactured in solid and stripe fabrics, from last December to June for sizes newborn to 24 months.
