SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Safety Greg Jackson, who spent the past three seasons with the San Diego Chargers, was re-signed to the active roster Tuesday as the team struggles with injuries.

Jackson requested his release during training camp when it became clear he wasn't going to make the two-deep roster.

To make room for Jackson, safety Jason Perry was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury sustained during practice three weeks ago.

The Chargers also signed quarterback Kevin Daft to the practice squad, cut wide receiver Calvin Schexnayder from the practice squad, and waived defensive end Wayne Hampton from injured reserve.
