Garrison Keillor show canceled after misconduct allegation
Nov. 30, 2017
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A performance by Garrison Keillor in Connecticut has been canceled following an accusation of improper conduct against the longtime public radio personality.
The Warner Theatre in Torrington, Connecticut, was scheduled to host Keillor Thursday night. It says on its website that the performance has been canceled and refunds will be issued.
The former "A Prairie Home Companion" host was accused by one woman of inappropriate behavior.
He didn't detail the allegation to AP, but told the Minneapolis Star Tribune he had put his hand on a woman's bare back when trying to console her.
Keillor was fired by Minnesota Public Radio.
Since a pattern of sexual harassment and assault by Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein was revealed this fall, multiple men in entertainment, media and politics have faced sexual misconduct allegations.
