Cologne Aimed at Making the Poor Economy Smell Rosy

ALBERTSON, N.Y. (AP) _ ''The economy stinks. You shouldn't have to'' is the motto of a new men's cologne called Recession.
Recession was developed by Alan Salzbank, 36, an options trader from Port Washington, and Elliot Freeman, 46, a lease financier from Searingtown.
The cologne hit the shelves of Bloomingdale's in New York City last week at $22.50 for a two-ounce spray bottle. Its Long Island inventors describe it as a ''manly fragrance, with woodsy notes and a pleasant touch of citrus.''
It comes with a brief explanation of the state of the economy, a spoof of a newspaper article on the recession and a slip that reads:
''The cologne for the man who used to have everything.''
