Fever Defeats Shock, 78-65

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) _ Tamika Catchings scored 27 points and Nikki McCray added 21 as the Indiana Fever beat the Detroit Shock 78-65 on Sunday night.
Catchings was 12-of-12 from the free-throw line, two short of Lisa Leslie's WNBA record, and the Fever were 29-of-31 overall.
The victory, Indiana's second over Detroit in two nights, spoiled the Shock's home opener. Catchings, playing the first games of her WNBA career, scored 50 points in the two games.
Indiana (2-0) has beaten Detroit (0-3) five straight times.
Wendy Palmer led Detroit with 16 points, Astou Ndiaye-Diatta added 15 and rookie Swin Cash had 14.
The Fever used a 13-2 run to take a 52-46 lead with 12:30 left. Catchings scored seven during the run and Malcolm added four.
The Shock cut it to 56-55, but Indiana answered with a 12-0 surge to go up 68-55 with 3:33 left.
