Angels' Schoeneweis Leaves Game
Jun. 17, 2000
BALTIMORE (AP) _ Anaheim Angels pitcher Scott Schoeneweis strained his right rib cage during the fourth inning of Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.
The left-hander threw a ball to Will Clark, his first pitch of the inning, and promptly walked off the mound. After a quick discussion with manager Mike Scioscia, Schoeneweis left the game and was replaced by Mike Fyhrie.
It was not immediately known if the injury would cause Schoeneweis to miss his next scheduled start.
Schoeneweis allowed four runs and five hits in three innings, including a pair of home runs to Albert Belle. He entered the game winless in his last four starts.
