RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — A state prison inmate placed on escape status after he walked away from a minimum-security facility in Rapid City earlier this month is back in custody.
State corrections officials say Christian Voldbaek was apprehended in Rapid City on Monday, nearly three weeks after going missing from the Rapid City Community Work Center on the Fourth of July.
Voldbaek is serving a total of six years in prison on convictions in Lawrence and Butte counties for drug distribution and use, forgery and eluding police.
