Police: Biker assault on family vans not racially motivated
Aug. 09, 2017
WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say an attack on a family's vans by motorcyclists was not racially-motivated as originally reported.
Police in Woodbridge said Wednesday that they have no suspects after a New Jersey man reported he was punched in the face and his van's windows and the mirror on a family member's minivan were smashed.
The driver told police as many as six motorcyclists surrounded his van while stopped at a red light. He told WCBS that one of the attackers called him an Indian during the attack.
Police say the family was traveling from New York's Kennedy International Airport to their home in New Jersey when they were attacked just after midnight Sunday.
They say it started on the Garden State Parkway where a motorcyclist alleged that one of the vans almost hit his bike.
