Police: Groups of teenagers behind rash of crimes
Feb. 16, 2018
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee police chief has ordered the formation of a task force to interdict groups of teenagers responsible for auto thefts, violent carjackings and personal robberies.
Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief Steve Anderson ordered Thursday the formation of a multi-component task force to interdict what may be two separate groups of armed teenagers responsible for the crimes over the past several days.
News outlets report that police say they're increasingly concerned at the actions and attitudes of suspected teenage criminals, including a 15-year-old that police say attempted to draw a loaded pistol on an officer who approached him Tuesday.
Investigations are continuing into several cases in the Green Hills and surrounding areas that include the shooting of a man outside Green Hills Library.
