ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ The Anaheim Angels released catcher Sal Fasano and activated right-handed pitcher Steve Green on Tuesday from the 60-day disabled list.

The Angels acquired the 31-year-old Fasano and outfielder Alex Ochoa from Milwaukee on July 31 for catcher Jorge Fabregas and two minor leaguers. Ochoa recently filed for free agency.

Following the trade, Fasano hit .276 with five homers and 10 RBIs in 22 games at Triple-A Salt Lake and was hitless in one at-bat while playing in two games for the Angels.

Green, 24, spent last season rehabilitating his right elbow after undergoing surgery June 20, 2001.
