Feb. 21, 1992
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ The late John Wayne's 15-year-old grandson, missing for two days, turned up safe Thursday hours after his father made a public appeal for the boy to return to his new home, a relative said.
''We're just ecstatic,'' said Toni LaCava, an aunt of Anthony Wayne. ''He's been reunited with his dad. He's in great shape.''
Ms. LaCava said she didn't know details of the boy's disappearance. She said he turned up in the general area of Los Angeles.
On Thursday morning, Wayne's father, actor Patrick Wayne, offered a $5,000 reward for information about the boy.
Anthony Wayne disappeared three weeks after moving to Southern California from his mother's home in Sun Valley, Idaho. The couple divorced in 1978.
He was last seen Tuesday morning on his way to school.
Patrick Wayne was host of the television game show ''Tic Tac Dough'' and appeared in the movie ''Young Guns.''
