SEQUIM, Wash. (AP) — A wooden powerboat has sunk at John Wayne Marina in Washington.

The Peninsula Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/2tL70E1 ) the 46-foot (14-meter) boat was known to take on water and have a pump running. Harbormaster Ron Amundson says the boat's two pumps failed Tuesday night when it sank.

He says marina staff deployed an emergency pump after calls came in, but the pump couldn't stop the boat from sinking.

He says Global Diving and Salvage was working Wednesday morning to remove fuel and oil from where the boat sank.

The plan is to tow the boat to the boatyard in Port Angeles.
