Police: Pair found with cocaine, counterfeits and fireworks

HARRISON, N.Y. (AP) — New York State Police say a seemingly routine traffic stop for speeding in suburban New York City yielded cocaine, counterfeit money and fireworks.
The Journal News reports (http://lohud.us/2uDY0lP ) a 29-year-old Bronx man and 21-year-old Manhattan woman were arrested Monday after a traffic stop along Interstate 287 in Harrison. They both face multiple charges that include first-degree forgery, fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of fireworks.
Police say troopers found probable cause to search the car the pair was travelling in after interviewing the driver. According to police, troopers found cocaine, marijuana, a $100 counterfeit bill and illegal fireworks.
The pair is scheduled to appear in Harrison Town Court Aug. 1.
