WESTMINSTER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont state police say a tree fell on a moving car in Westminster, but no one was hurt.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon as a severe thunderstorm moved through the area. Police say a 44-year-old woman was driving south on Route 5 when a large tree fell, with the main part of the tree landing across the hood of the car and branches on top. The car's window and sunroof were shattered, and there was extensive damage to the car's front end.

The driver was not hurt, and was able to free herself from the vehicle.
