DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) _ Love That Red, runner-up in the Bing Crosby Handicap three weeks ago, got the job done Sunday, winning the $150,000 Pat O'Brien Handicap at Del Mar by 1 1/2 lengths over Cliquot.

Love That Red, ridden by Corey Nakatani and carrying 118 pounds, went through a narrow opening on the rail turning into the stretch, then held on, covering seven furlongs in 1:21 4-5.

Love That Red paid $5.20, $3 and $2.40 and earned the winner's purse of $90,000.

Cliquot returned $3 and $2.40, while Son of a Pistol paid $2.80 to show.

Love That Red, the 8-5 favorite, gave trainer Bob Baffert his sixth stakes win at the halfway point of the 43-day Del Mar season.

The 4-year-old gelding won for the eighth time in 17 starts.
