Police: NH man flees Mass. car crash
Nov. 11, 2013
TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — A New Hampshire man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a car crash in Massachusetts.
Tyngsborough Police Chief Richard Howe said officers responded to a severe single-vehicle crash on Pawtucket Boulevard just before 11 a.m. Sunday.
The car apparently struck a guardrail.
Officers were unable to locate the driver. They found a large amount of blood in the vehicle and a break in the windshield consistent with a head strike.
The Sun of Lowell (http://bit.ly/1dgRu58 ) reports that a police dog found the driver about an hour later hiding in the nearby woods.
Police say 33-year-old Paul Strong, of Nashua, N.H., was transported to Lowell General Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening head laceration. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.
