LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Jalen Rose scored eight of his 18 points in the final 3 1/2 minutes as the Indiana Pacers rallied for an 85-82 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.
Jermaine O'Neal had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the defending Eastern Conference champs, who beat the Clippers for the 13th time in 14 meetings _ and barely prevented them from completed an improbable two-game sweep of last season's NBA finalists in consecutive nights.
The Clippers, fresh off a stunning 118-95 upset over the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers, got 17 points from Jeff McInnis. Rookie Darius Miles has 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Eleven of the Clippers' 24 losses have been by six points or fewer.
The victory gave the Pacers consecutive victories for the first time since Dec. 8-9 against Boston and Charlotte. Reggie Miller scored only 11 points in 41 minutes, but hit a clutch basket down the stretch to seal the Clippers' fate.
