KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Uniforms for airline ground crews were among items stolen from a truck earlier this month, the FBI said Wednesday.

FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza said there was no indication the thieves stole the uniforms to gain access to an airport. Airport authorities and the Federal Aviation Administration have been notified as a precaution, he said.

``We believe this is the work of thieves, not terrorists,'' Lanza said.

A truck belonging to the uniform company, Cintas, was stolen May 4 in downtown Kansas City. The truck was found a day later, but the cargo, including airport uniforms used by ground crew and ramp workers for three airlines, was missing, Lanza said.

He would not identify the airlines.
