Maine charity says it expects fewer refugees to resettle

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The group Catholic Charities of Maine that planned to resettle nearly 700 refugees in 2017 now says it is expecting half that number.
Catholic Charities of Maine says it had planned to resettle 685 refugees for the fiscal year, which ends in September. WMTV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2uTHAZo ) that as this month, they had only resettled 300 in total for the year.
This would be the lowest number of resettled refugees since 2011 in the state.
Last year, catholic charities resettled 642 refugees. The year before they resettled 442.
