MADISON, Neb. (AP) _ A Nebraska State Patrol trooper who helped investigate a bank robbery that left five dead committed suicide Friday, authorities said.
The trooper killed himself ``in connection'' with the robbery, Madison County Attorney Joseph Smith said.
Smith refused to detail the connection between the suicide and Thursday's heist at a U.S. Bank branch in nearby Norfolk. Sheriff Vern Hjorth said the reason for the suicide had not been established.
Four men were arrested after the robbery and have been charged with shooting four bank employees and a customer to death.
