Sep. 12, 1991
PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Leon G. Wigrizer will leave his job as head of the city Department of Licenses and Inspections after 3 1/2 months to become inspector general of SEPTA.
Wigrizer will form an internal investigative unit to combat waste and fraud at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, it was announced Wednesday.
Wigrizer, 63, worked for the Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department before becoming the city's first inspector general in 1985. He moved to L&I in June of this year and will report to SEPTA Sept. 30.
''It's a challenge and I decided to take it,'' he said.
