Malmo FF manager quits, rumored to be new Denmark coach
Dec. 02, 2015
MALMO, Sweden (AP) — Swedish club champion Malmo FF says its manager Age Hareide has resigned amid Danish media speculation that he will become Denmark's new coach.
Malmo say the 62-year-old Hareide, a former Norway international, "verbally informed" them he won't be guiding the club in the new year after two years in charge.
Malmo recently lost 5-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League group stage.
Hareide has coached several Scandinavian clubs, and was in charge of Norway from 2003-08.
Morten Olsen stepped down as Denmark coach after the team failed last month to qualify for the 2016 European Championship. The Danish Football Association has said only that it will present a new coach before Dec. 31.
