NY Catholic church rescinds planned award to Charlie Rose

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP) — A Roman Catholic diocese in suburban New York has rescinded an award it planned to give Charlie Rose.
Rose was fired Tuesday by CBS News after several women accused the veteran newsman of sexual misconduct.
Newsday reports that the Diocese of Rockville Centre had planned to honor Rose at a luncheon Tuesday as a "leader in broadcast media."
Rose has been one of three hosts of "CBS This Morning" since 2012 and is also a contributor to "60 Minutes."
PBS and Bloomberg also suspending airings of Rose's nightly interview show after the Washington Post wrote about women who said he groped them and walked around naked in front of them.
Diocese spokesman Sean Dolan said in a statement: "We pray for all victims of any form of abuse or harassment."
