RUSTON, La. (AP) _ Jason Martin threw for 542 yards and eight touchdowns Saturday _ both school records _ and Louisiana Tech thrashed Toledo 61-20 to snap a three-game losing streak.
Chad Mackey, who caught five of Mackey's touchdown passes, set school records for TD catches and receiving yards (310) for the Bulldogs (4-3).
Tech never trailed in its first-ever game against Toledo (4-2), opening a 28-7 halftime lead on Martin's touchdown passes of 5 and 55 yards to Mackey and 31 and 39 yards to Troy Edwards. The Bulldogs opened to 55-7 on Martin's four other touchdown passes _ 30 yards to Josh Bradley and 45, 42 and 79 yards to Mackey.
After spotting Toledo two touchdowns, Tech finished off its scoring binge with two 51-yard field goals by Marty Kent.
Martin's 542 passing yards broke his own school record of 455 set last season against Nevada. His eight touchdown passes broke the record of seven he shared with Terry Bradshaw.
Martin, who finished with 28 completions in 36 attempts, equalled another record, also held by Bradshaw, with his seventh career 300-yard game.
