NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Stacy Frese scored 26 points, including nine of 10 free throws, as No. 18 Iowa State defeated Oklahoma 81-60 in a Big 12 opener Saturday.
Megan Taylor and Desiree Francis each added 16 points as Iowa State (9-1 overall) built a 47-29 halftime lead and wasn't threatened in the final 20 minutes.
Frese had 20 points and Francis 12 in the first half, combining to outscore Oklahoma, as the Cyclones shot 59 percent from the field, hitting 16-of-27 shots.
Iowa State hit 5-of-8 3-pointers in the first half before cooling off and hitting just 3-of-10 in the final 20 minutes.
The Cyclones shot 49 percent from the field (27-of-55) for the game.
Phylesha Whaley led Oklahoma (6-5) with 14 points. Desiree Taylor, who grabbed seven rebounds, added 13 for the Sooners and Nola Wainohu had 12 points and four assists.
Oklahoma shot 35 percent (19-of-54) and 32 percent (6-of-19) from 3-point range.
Iowa State outrebounded Oklahoma 36-30.
