AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — A Maine man who served time in prison for vehicular manslaughter is heading back to prison for using heroin.

The Kennebec Journal reports 50-year-old Roger Linton II, of Augusta, pleaded guilty Monday in Augusta to violating probation. A judge sentenced Linton to eight months in prison, followed by probation.

Prosecutors say Linton was found unconscious after overdosing at a Hannaford supermarket in April.

Linton pleaded guilty in 2009 to manslaughter and aggravated operating under the influence. He was sentenced to eight years in prison with four years' probation.

Linton had three drunken-driving convictions prior to the manslaughter conviction.

Linton's attorney says his client will go through substance abuse treatment.
