MALIBU, Calif. (AP) _ Bryan Hill had 22 points and 11 rebounds as Pepperdine snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 77-59 victory over Cal State-Hayward Friday night.

Marc McDowell added 12 points and nine rebounds and reserve Marques Johnson 11 points for the Waves (2-8).

Cal State-Hayward (5-4) got 17 points from Charles Wiley and 11 from Lance Broderson.

Hayward led 21-16 on a 3-pointer by Jared Gibson in the first half. Hill scored 13 straight for Pepperdine, helping the Waves take a 29-25 lead. Pepperdine increased its halftime advantage to 39-29.

Hayward closed to 47-40 on a basket by Jason Perica with 13:43 remaining. But the Waves quickly rebuilt a double-digit lead to end their losing streak.
