Production Goes Up This Week

DETROIT (AP) _ Domestic automakers were scheduled to produce 163,826 cars and light trucks this week, up from last week's 113,348, Ward's Automotive Reports said Thursday.
This week's production is higher than the same week a year ago, in which 154,646 cars and light trucks were produced, the trade journal said.
U.S. automakers were scheduled to make 91,409 cars this week, compared with 63,044 a week ago and 83,044 in the same week in 1989.
Light truck production for the week was scheduled at 72,417, compared with last week's 40,304 and last year's 71,602.
Canadian automakers were to build 17,599 cars this week, down from 19,732 a week ago but up from last year's 12,101.
Canadian light truck production was scheduled at 8,130, compared with 11,118 a week ago and 5,751 in the same week last year.
