Braves Put Reggie Sanders On DL
May. 06, 2000
ATLANTA (AP) _ Outfielder Reggie Sanders was put on the 15-day disabled list by the Atlanta Braves on Saturday because of a sprained left ankle, a move retroactive to April 30.
Sanders was injured while crossing first base on a fielder's choice in his second at-bat April 29 at San Diego. At the time, he was hitting .139 with two RBIs after ending an 0-for-34 slump with a double in his first at-bat in the game.
Atlanta purchased the contract of infielder Steve Sisco from Triple-A Richmond.
Sisco, 30, hit .260 with three home runs and six RBIs in 20 games at Richmond after batting .316 with five homers and nine RBIs in 38 spring training at-bats. He was to join the Braves for Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
