COCHABAMBA, Bolivia (AP) _ A bus slammed into a Bolivian mountainside, killing 28 people and injuring at least 30, officials said Monday.
The crash took place Saturday night outside Cochabamba, 200 miles southeast of the capital, La Paz, said Cochabamba Transit Director Jose Luis Orellana.
The bus was traveling to Tarija, a city near the border with Argentina, when the driver apparently lost control on a bend in the road and slammed into the mountainside, Orellana said.
Rescue workers called off a search for more victims late Sunday after taking 30 injured people to hospitals. Some remained in critical condition.
