LONDON (AP) _ England soccer coach Don Howe was hospitalized with chest pains Wednesday.
The 52-year-old assistant to England manager Bobby Robson was admitted to Watford General Hospital in North London Tuesday night when he collapsed two days after the unsuccessful national squad returned from the European Championships in Germany.
A spokeswoman at Watford General Hospital said Howe was ''comfortable and satisfactory.''
She refused to confirm that the coach had suffered a heart attack, adding, ''nothing further will be known until the results of blood tests are known in a few days.''
In addition to his England duties, Howe, a former Arsenal manager, also coaches Wimbledon of the First Diuvision of the English League.
