LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) _ Awesome Again remained unbeaten in six races this year by winning the $5.12 million Breeders' Cup Classic on Saturday as Skip Away failed to become the first horse ever to earn $10 million.

Awesome Again, ridden by Pat Day, got the lead in the deep stretch and beat Silver Charm with Britain-based Swain third and Belmont Stakes winner Victory Gallop fourth.

Skip Away was in the hunt until the stretch run, but the 5-year-old gray faltered in the last race of his illustrious career.

Awesome Again took the lead away from 1997 Kentucky Derby winner Silver Charm nearing the wire and nailed the $2.662,400 winner's share.
