CHICAGO (AP) _ Eric Daze scored on a 45-foot shot with 1:19 remaining in the third period as the Chicago Blackhawks rallied to tie the Colorado Avalanche 2-2 Sunday night.
Daze beat David Aebischer from the top of the right circle after Stephane Quintal's shot from the point was blocked by Colorado's Eric Messier.
Alex Zhamnov had a short-handed goal for the Blackhawks, who extended their unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1) and are 8-2-2 in their last 12.
Milan Hejduk and Chris Drury scored in the first period for Colorado, which is unbeaten in three games (2-0-1) and has not lost in regulation in nine games (5-0-3-1).
Aebischer stopped 21 shots for Colorado. Chicago's Jocelyn Thibault blocked 21 shots.
Hejduk scored on a one-timer from the slot _ Colorado's first shot _ at 5:45 of the first period.
Drury made it 2-0 with 5:15 left in the first when his shot from the right circle sailed over Thibault's shoulder.
Zhamnov cut it to 2-1 on a short-handed goal with 8:52 left in the second. Chicago's Chris Herperger chased down Drury in the Colorado zone, forced a turnover and centered to Zhamnov, who sped down the slot.
Chicago managed just four shots in the third, including Daze's tying goal from the top of the right circle.
Notes: Chicago defenseman Jaroslav Spacek injured his left shoulder in the first period and did not return. ... In their last 12 games, the Blackhawks have outscored opponents 42-22. ...
