SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Cal Poly ace Matt Imhof took a one-hitter into the eighth inning, No. 9 hitter John Schuknecht hit an RBI triple and the Mustangs beat Sacramento State 4-2 on Friday night to win in their first NCAA regional home game in Division I program history.

Imhof (10-4) finished by allowing two runs, one earned, and three hits in 7 2-3 innings. He struck out four and walked five to extend a program-record win total for Cal Poly (46-10).

Entering with a .270 batting average, Schuknecht was 2 for 3 and scored the game's second run on a second-inning double by Mark Mathias. His triple in the third made it 3-0, and Mathias singled him in for a 4-0 cushion.

Sam Long took the loss for Sacramento State (39-23), giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four in seven innings.
