NBA Fines Penny Hardaway $7,500

NEW YORK (AP) _ Penny Hardaway of the Orlando Magic was fined $7,500 by the NBA on Tuesday for criticizing officials following a loss to the Miami Heat last weekend.
After a 84-78 defeat Sunday, Hardaway laced into the officials for failing to call enough fouls on Miami.
``I haven't said one thing about the refs in my six years in Orlando, but I'm tired of it,'' Hardaway said after he made just 3 of 14 shots and finished with 10 points. ``This is really ridiculous. I go 3-for-14 or 3-for-16 and half of those shots are plays where I get fouled and it isn't called. My stats are awful because of this stuff.''
Of one particular play, when Hardaway thought he was fouled late in the game and with his team trailing by a point, he said: ``I went baseline and Dan Majerle got all arm. I got fouled right in front of the ref's face. I looked at him and he said, `Not now. Not in crunch time.' ''
Hardaway indicated that he did not remember which official made that statement. The crew consisted of Ronnie Nunn, Sean Corbin and Rashan Michel.
