HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — A Hillsboro, Oregon, man was arrested after nearly hitting a deputy while attempting to run from a traffic stop.

KPTV_TV reports that deputies were attempting to identify the driver during a traffic stop Saturday when he drove away.

Officials said as Trevor Bosworth fled, his car grazed a deputy.

A few minutes later, deputies found Bosworth's car near Southwest Tualatin Valley Highway.

Bosworth refused to stop and led deputies on a pursuit into a neighborhood.

Deputies pinned Bosworth's car with a patrol car and he was taken into custody.

Bosworth was charged with assault, attempted assault on a public safety officer, unlawful use of a weapon, felony attempting to elude, reckless driving, and giving false information to a peace officer.

It was not immediately known if Bosworth has a lawyer.
