LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) _ A powerful bomb exploded in a congested market in the eastern Punjab capital of Lahore on Tuesday, injuring at least 35 people, police said.

The bomb, which was apparently hidden in a bag, went off barely two miles from the busy railway station.

No one took immediate responsibility and no arrests have been made.

Pakistan has been wracked by dozens of bomb explosions in recent months killing scores of people wounding many more.

The army government previously blamed uneasy neighbor India, which denies the charge. Both countries routinely exchange accusations of sabotage.
