PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix police say a man later determined to have been involved in an aggravated assault died when he crashed his truck after it was seen speeding and didn't stop for an officer.
Sgt. Jonathan Howard says an officer tried unsuccessfully tried to pull over the speeding truck Sunday night before the man lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a wall and pole.
The incident began near 15th Avenue and Indian School Road and ended about two miles (3 kilometers) away near 15th Avenue McDowell Road.
Howard didn't immediately respond to an inquiry on whether the officer was pursuing the speeding truck at the time of the fatal crash.
