DALLAS (AP) _ The Dallas Burn fired coach Mike Jeffries on Monday and named assistant coach Colin Clarke his interim replacement.
The Burn (4-16-4), off to their worst start in team history, are in last place in the MLS' Western Conference.
Jeffries was in his third season as coach and finished with a 23-36-16 record.
Clarke was the assistant coach for three years. He will be considered among several candidates for the fulltime position, according to John Wagner, president of Hunt Sports, which owns the team.
